2012 was a great year for England. The London Olympics were a huge success and there were many other sporting achievements that Englanders across the world could be proud of. St Georges Day is the one time of the year where people can celebrate their Englishness together. The Caribbean and Latin restaurant Guanabana, which is in the heart of Camden Town, is the perfect place to go to on St Georges Day. This is because it serves many authentic dishes which are from these regions.

Guanabana also has a dish on its menu that is iconic with England but it is served with a Caribbean flavour. Liver has been enjoyed by English people for generations. However Guanabana prepares it in a completely different way. Served with garlic mayonnaise and a fresh lime, Chicken Liver Popcorn is a great starter and is very popular with diners of all ages. One of Guanabana’s most affordably priced starters, it could accompany a steak or enjoyed just before Black Tiger King Prawns.

Cooked using a combination of spices which provide a taste sensation, Black Tiger King Prawns is the tip of the iceberg because there are plenty of others which are on Guanabana’s A La Carte Menu. Sticky Licky Beef Ribs are just as popular as is Guanabana’s Curry Goat – all of which are cooked using traditional methods that aren’t used anywhere else than in the Caribbean and also Latin American countries.

So, if you want to enjoy a completely different experience on St Georges Day, why not pay Guanabana a visit?

Mimosa sta per Italia. Mother’s day sta per Londra.

Giallo. Mimosa.

Pioggia. Mother’s day.
Mogli, madri, figlie, fidanzate, amiche. Donne.

A true love story at Guanabana

Valentines day @ Guanabana Restaurant Camden

Every Valentine’s Day at Guanabana, there is a lot of romance in the air. A cosy and intimate setting, it seems that it wasn’t just Guanabana’s customers who were looking at their partners as if they were star-crossed lovers because it was also felt by our employees.

It all started a while ago when Guanabana was looking to hire a new waitress. After finding someone who knew Guanabana inside out and was very enthusiastic about starting her new role, it wasn’t just a job for her. This is because our new waitress had caught the eye of one of our cooks. About the same age as each other and unattached, the romantic atmosphere one Valentine’s Day in Guanabana resulted in the cook asking our newest member of staff out on a date and she said yes!

You might think that working together all the time would test a new relationship to breaking point but Guanabana’s warm and welcoming atmosphere seemed to have the opposite effect. In fact, within a couple of weeks, they were engaged.

As their wedding day soon approached, what better venue for their wedding meal was there than Guanabana? Our cook was also an expert cake maker and he made the perfect wedding cake for his newly married wife. As her family had never tried Caribbean food before, our cook had the chance to impress his new in-laws and he didn’t fail to disappoint because he cooked a sumptuous feast. Apparently, the best man and one of the bride’s cousins struck up a conversation during the meal at Guanabana and they have now been an item for a while.

Whoever said romance is dead definitely hasn’t come to Guanabana before.

Guanabana is a Caribbean and Latin restaurant which only uses Halal meat. Our rotisserie chicken, which can be ordered as to go only, is prepared in a way which you’ve probably never seen before. The meat is cooked in an authentic Caribbean style and the result is a taste sensation which sends shivers down the spine. As the meat falls off the bone, we reckon that you’ll probably want to come back for more.

It doesn’t take hours to walk to Guanabana from where Camden Market is. In fact, it will only probably take a few seconds. Therefore, as soon as you are hungry, you can come to Guanabana and buy your rotisserie chicken which you can enjoy as you walk from one stall to another.

For a fantastic lunch, come to Guanabana and try our rotisserie chicken.
