Notting Hill Carnival's Coming...

Notting Hill Carnival’s coming to town again. Europe’s biggest street festival returns on the 25-27th August – but considering you’re on Guanabana’s blog, we probably didn’t need to tell you that. As always, we can’t wait for carnival, but Notting Hill gets a bit too packed and crazy to spend the whole weekend in. Instead, we’ll be having our own little Caribbean celebration for the week.

Everybody knows carnival for floats, costumes and food - all of them in plenty of vibrant colour. Fortunately, we happen to specialise in one of those - colourful food that looks just as good as it tastes. Add that to some of the carnival favourites you already know and love, and you’ve got yourself a Carnival After Party spot.

What’s Carnival without some Jamaican jerk chicken? We’re always serving up Jamaican goodness at Guanabana, including our half jerk baby chicken. We grill our chicken on a wood coal grill - maybe you’ve caught a whiff of it as you walked past. Once the meat has taken in the jerk spices, we serve it up with rice, peas, plantain and jerk gravy. Mama would be proud.

Or maybe you’ve looking for something a bit thicker - in which case, curry lamb has got you covered. We offer a braised lamb curry stew. You get more than your fair share of plantain, rice & peas with your meal, so come hungry and expect to leave full!

Like what you see? Call us on 02074851166, or book online. Both of these dishes are available on our party and à la carte menus, so you can bring the whole carnival with you to Guanabana! Or, if the weather ends up being dreadful, you can just stay with us the whole day. We don’t mind.
