There’s no need to look any further. Guanabana is a 100% halal authentic restaurant based in Camden (85 Kentish town road) that has been open for the past 12 years . Halal Caribbean places are few and far between, but Guanabana and its sister restaurants firmly believe in inclusivity. Which is why our menu is so welcoming with many gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Being a Latin Caribbean restaurant, the dishes are simply bursting with flavour.
Our food is so good we have had people travel from far just to eat our food! I have met many customers who have come from places like Manchester just to eat at Guanabana. Try Camden’s word famous Jamaican jerk chicken, which you can get spicy (lathered in scotch bonnet jerk gravy) or sweet BBQ (made using Filipino sweet adobo sauce). But wait, it gets better! We also do gourmet burgers, such as the Mac Daddy (made using mac n’ cheese) and the Messy Mexican. We are also behind the magic of Mamasons–a Filipino desert place apart of the guanabana family- with its bakery located next to our bar . Pop in early enough and you’ll smell the sweet scent of Ube brownies and Pandesals as it fills the restaurant.

The founders of Guanabana, noticed the lack of variety in halal restaurants, and decided to change that. They had already started with Bintang(link) a pan-asian restaurant next door that is also fully halal. The term “halal” in Arabic means for permissible. An animal must be slaughtered in an Islamic fashion for it to be halal, and permissible to eat. With halal comes haram which means forbidden – this means any pork or alcoholic items

Guanabana is a 150 seater restaurant, meaning there’s lots of space for all your friends and family! Whether it’s a date, or a large birthday party we have room for you! We are one of the few restaurants that take 50 people bookings and we are also available for hire. Guanabana has a chill no stress homely vibe; playing old school reggae, R&B, and salsa.
